Después de más de dos décadas como espacio de difusión y reflexión en torno a la fotografía y las tecnologías que la han ido transformando, ZoneZero se reinventa como depositaria de ese quehacer y se extiende como brazo editorial del ecosistema constituído por la Fundación Pedro Meyer. Gracias a este entorno y sus antecedentes, tiene la capacidad de convocar a un amplio rango de autores e instituciones para explorar propuestas artísticas, teóricas y conceptuales sobre cultura visual y los formatos más convenientes para su difusión.

Historial
ZoneZero 2.0 es el espacio donde se mantiene el acervo acumulado durante las primeras dos etapas que van desde la fundación del sitio hasta el 2013. Aquí se pueden explorar contenidos de su primera época, bajo la bandera De lo analógico a lo digital. Durante esta transición, crucial para la fotografía, se presentó una panorámica de las reflexiones y materiales que fueron fortaleciendo ese cambio tecnológico, pero que también tuvo un gran impacto en los ámbitos económicos, sociales y culturales. Su segunda época, Desde la pantalla de luz, abarca un lapso de experimentación entre 2010 y 2013. En estos años, con la digitalidad ya inserta en la vida cotidiana, se meditó sobre las nuevas circunstancias del consumo de imágenes y se experimento con las herramientas necesarias para la distribución de contenidos. Se advirtió el nuevo cambio que iniciaba la proliferación de dispositivos y la multiplicidad de pantallas que democratizaron el intercambio de fotos, pero la magnitud de estos cambios sólo fue evidente al paso del tiempo. Eso, aunado a la integración de ZoneZero al ecosistema educativo de la Fundación Pedro Meyer, nos condujo finalmente al relanzamiento del sitio y la separación de este acervo.
Dentro de este espacio se mantendrá acceso a las casi 400 galerías, las versiones originales de las editoriales de Pedro Meyer, centenares de artículos, ensayos y libros electrónicos previamente publicados, mientras se eligen las mejores alternativas para presentar esos contenidos a un público más amplio y adaptándolos a las herramientas actuales. A partir de la segunda mitad de este año, en la medida que sea posible y oportuno, se lanzarán nuevas ediciones de estos materiales con información para contextualizar las características con que fueron presentadas originalmente. Plataforma de difusión para proyectos realizados como parte de las actividades educativas de la Fundación Pedro Meyer. El origen de este espacio se establece para dar mayor visibilidad a trabajos de participantes del Diplomado en Fotonarrativa y Nuevos Medios, organizado en colaboración con World Press Photo, y en la actualidad se propone complementar y expandir los procesos formativos de las actividades de la Fundación Pedro Meyer a través de una experiencia editorial.

ZoneZero 2.0 is a space where the collection accumulated during the first two stages from the foundation of the site until 2013. Here you can explore contents of his first period, under the banner Of the analogical to the digital. During this transition, crucial for photography, an overview of the reflections and materials that strengthened this technological change was presented, but it also had a great impact in the economic, social and cultural spheres. His second epoch, From the light screen, covers a period of experimentation between 2010 and 2013. In these years, with digitality already inserted in everyday life, he meditated on the new circumstances of the consumption of images and experimented with the tools Necessary for the distribution of content. It was noticed the new change that initiated the proliferation of devices and the multiplicity of screens that democratized the exchange of photos, but the magnitude of these changes was only evident with the passage of time. That, coupled with the integration of ZoneZero to the educational ecosystem of Pedro Meyer Foundation, finally led to the relaunch of the site and the separation of this collection.
Within this space will be maintained access to almost 400 galleries, original versions of Pedro Meyer´s editorials, hundreds of articles, essayss and electronics previously published, while choosing the best alternatives to present those contents to a wider audience and adapting them to the current tools. From the second half of this year, to the extent possible and timely, new editions of these materials will be launched with information to contextualize the characteristics with which they were originally presented.
