Las Truchas, Ciudad Lázaro Cárdenas

Book collection Miramar

From May 8 to June 6, 2025

In 1979, as the construction of the steel complex in Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán progressed, Pedro Meyer was invited to create a graphic testimony of this territory embracing modernity and progress. His photographs reflect the cultural, social, and political context of Mexico at that time, offering a broad panorama where irony, pleasures, and technology merge to construct a playful and hopeful narrative.

This exhibition presents the photographs that the author has managed to preserve in his archive in optimal condition since then, displaying a wide range of themes for reflection: from the human factor supporting industrial infrastructure, reading and teaching programs, and commerce, to controversial issues such as “The Dwarf and the Whores” inside Tiberio’s bar.
