Tuesday Workshop
The “Tuesday Workshop” with Pedro Meyer was much more than a simple review session: it was a formative space for critical dialogue where photography was understood as language, process, and authorial stance. Held at the Pedro Meyer Foundation – Casa Coyoacán, this gathering brought together photographers of different levels—from emerging to professional—interested in deepening the development of their projects.
During the sessions, participants presented their portfolios or works in progress, which were analyzed collectively. Meyer, together with the group, proposed a critical reading that went beyond the technical: aspects such as narrative coherence, the author’s intention, image editing, visual rhythm, and the relationship between form and content were addressed. This approach fostered a broader understanding of photography as an expressive and discursive medium.
The open and horizontal nature of the workshop allowed learning to come not only from the renowned author, but also from the exchange among attendees. Diverse opinions enriched the discussion and helped participants confront, refine, or rethink their ideas. In this sense, the workshop functioned as a laboratory of visual thinking where new ways of seeing and telling stories were explored.
Furthermore, the “Tuesday Workshop” consolidated an active community around contemporary photography, promoting peer support and the continuity of projects beyond a single session. For many, it represented a unique opportunity to receive direct feedback from a key figure in Latin American photography, as well as to join a network of creators with similar interests.
